Disability Services Home - Active Linking Initiative

LINC's Supported Accommodation Service currently has 3 Group Homes, soon to increase to 4 that will accommodate up to 18 adults who predominantly have an intellectual disability.

With the recent capital funding grant LINC has purchased two new homes to enable us to expand our client base and incorporate those people with disabilities who do not receive funding packages.
There is approximately 30 staff employed by the Supported Accommodation arm within our disability service on a full-time, part-time and casual basis.

The houses cater for people with varying levels of need, from high support to low support and the exciting prospect of an outreach transition home.
The staff of SAS are well trained, very flexible and are able to meet each individuals needs as required to a very high standard.

Supported Accommodation's Program Coordinator develops meaningful programmes related to the client's Individual Service Plan to enhance their skills and to promote positive, healthy lifestyles.

Families, friends and guardians are encouraged to provide input into the service we provide to individuals so as to ensure the best possible outcomes are achieved for the people living within the service.

Residents of the service, their family members, advocates and LINC management meet regularly to discuss any concerns or issues that affect and influence the lives of our residents to ensure the high standard of service is maintained and transparent.

The support and ongoing commitment of this group is paramount to the continued improvement and success of the service.

SAS residents enjoy regular activities and outings including trips to sporting events, annual holidays at coastal locations, participation in the yearly Mini-Olympics and tri-monthly discos.

2008 will see the beginning of an exciting new venture as some of our residents take part in their first cruise around the southern seas.

Below are various photo galleries of some of these events:
